Meet Joe.

Joe works as the Safety Coordinator for midsize commercial construction company; and someone we’ve gotten to know and love.  Joe is a soft-spoken, kind-hearted, hard worker in his mid-thirties. In high school, he took 5th in the state high school wrestling tournament his junior year and was favored to win state his senior year. In the summer of 2003, before senior year, Joe was 17 years old and working with his dad at a job site in Minneapolis doing masonry work. On this warm summer day, something went terribly wrong.  The scaffolding wasn’t set up correctly, and Jadin fell 65 feet (Pause – showing emotion), crushing his spine and causing his heart to stop. Luckily, his dad knew CPR and could tend to Joe until EMS arrived.  Just imagine seeing your son fall six stories and then needing to do CPR on him.  Joe lived through this but now must spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair, paralyzed from the chest down.  That day, Joe went to work in the best shape of his life as a future state wrestling champion and came home unable to walk again.

A Message From The Founder

As an insurance broker, I started feeling like a commodity, simply finding my clients the best price. I opened JW Risk and created Risk-Surance™ because I wanted to do more for my clients and make real difference.  I then discovered a need that had to be filled.  Most companies paying $100,000 or more for their workers’ compensation insurance should hire a full-time risk manager but can’t justify the extra payroll expense. Annual salary of a good risk manager is going to be $100,000 or more and companies usually wait until the 200+ employee mark before making this hire.  So depending on the industry, those company with 30 to 250 employee can really benefit from our service.  

This of us an a commercial insurance broker that provides fractional risk management services are you additional cost.  Your current insurance agent is being paid a commission from the insurance company every year, typically 10-12%. Once we become your agent we accept that same 10-12% commission as payment in full, and provide additional risk management services, at no extra charge.  Our Risk-Surance™ is a unique blend of risk management and business insurance that is designed to prevent injuries and claims from happening in the first place, which will drive down your insurance premiums, increase production and boost profits.  Our job, is to make your job easier.
